The Role of Personality Organization and Psychological Basic Psychological Needs in Predicting Malformed Body-Seem Attempters Admitted to Cosmetic Surgery

Abstract
Introduction & Objective: This study aimed to determine the role of personality organization and psychological basic psychological needs in predicting malformed body-seem attempters admitted to cosmetic surgery. Materials & Methods: Cross-correlation method. The population of this study included all applicants to cosmetic surgery without a medical reason was that during the first six months of 1395 were referred to cosmetic surgery centers in Tehran. The sample was selected by convenience sampling method 300. Data collection tools include Yale-Brown Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder Scale modified for malformed body seemed to Phillips (1997), Inventory of Personality Organization Krnbrg (2002) and psychological questionnaires basic needs there, Deci and Ryan (2004). Results: Data analysis was performed using Pearson correlation and regression analysis. As a result of data analysis showed that there is a significant positive relationship between the personality organization with seemed malformed body and basic psychological needs. There is a significant negative correlation with basic psychological needs with seemed malformed body. Conclusions: Regression analysis showed that reality testing and merit were able to predict seemed malformed body (P < 0.05).
