استفاده از بیومتریال کربنی در دریچه های مکانیکی قلب

چکیده
پیشرفت‌های حاصل شده در فن آوری سنتز مواد پیشرفته سبب شده است، حوزه‌های جدید و رو به گسترشی از انواع کربن ظهـور پیدا کند. در اواخر دهده 1960 میلادی، همـکاری Jack C Bokres و Vincent Gott سبب توسعه کربن پیرولیـت شد. کربن پیرولیـت از خون سازگاری و مقـاومت سایشی خوبی برخوردار بوده لذا جایگزین مواد فلـزی در دریچه‌های مصنوعی قلب شد. در 1990 نمونه جدید کربن پیرولیت بستر سیال به نام ON-X اختراع شد. کربن دارای چند آلوتروپی است. کربن پیرولیتی ساختاری شبه بلوری دارد. این کربن در اثر تجزیه حرارتی مواد هیـدروکربنی مایع یا گازی به وجـود می‌آید. تافنس کربن LTI، 25 برابر آلومینا است. کربن LTI به دلیل برخورداری از مجموعه‌ای از خواص همچون خون سازگاری، خواص فیزیکی و مکانیکی مطلوب و دوام مناسب، یکی از موفق‌ترین بیومتریال از نظر کاربرد و عملکرد به شمار می‌رود. از نظر بلورشناختی، در خصوص شروع ترک خستگی که در فلزات اتفاق می‌افتد در کربن LTI وجود ندارد و در صورتی که اجزای کربنی دریچه مکانیکی قلب به درستی طراحی و ساخته شده باشند و هیچگونه آسیب از خارج به آنها وارد نشود، دچار خستگی نخواهند شد. لازم به ذکر است از 4 میلیون ایمپلنت کاشته شده فقط 60 مورد دچار شکست شده‌اند. پس می-توان از شکست خستگی این ماده صرف نظر کرد.
